Program costs
The Yahel Social Change Program is supported by Masa Israel Journey (a project of the Government of Israel and the Jewish Agency) and Repair the World. Information about applying for a Masa grant can be found here.
The fee for the Yahel Social Change Program includes air travel to Israel*, accommodations, transportation, touring, educational programming and health insurance. The fee does not include food, travel on free weekends and personal expenses.
* The participant will purchase their own plane ticket and will be reimbursed for up to 5,000 shekels after 3 months into the program.
In addition to the Masa grants, additional needs-based scholarships are available through Masa and Yahel.

Payment schedule
- Non-refundable application fee upon applying: $100.
- Deposit to secure place in program upon acceptance: $900.
- Balance (excluding application fee, deposit and Masa grants) is due 30 days prior to the beginning of the program.
Cancellation and withdrawal policy
- Cancellation from 45 days before the beginning of the program: refund of paid tuition less $500 late cancellation fee.
- Withdrawal from the program after first month: no refund.
- Note that refunds include only funds paid to Yahel – Israel Service Learning and do not include grants or scholarships from MASA.
Medical Insurance
The Yahel Social Change Program includes medical insurance. The health insurance does not cover pre-existing medical conditions. Medication, whether prescribed or otherwise, is the financial responsibility of the participant. The insurance takes effect on the day the program begins; participants are encouraged to travel to Israel with their own insurance.
Safety and Security
The safety and security of participants of the Yahel Social Change Program is of great importance to us. The security situation will be closely monitored throughout the program and Yahel reserves the right to cancel or change itineraries or to substitute comparable service due to security concerns. Participants should follow safety instructions from Yahel staff at all times. Yahel is not responsible for the safety of the participants during their free weekends.
