Lior Benisty is a resident of the city of Lod, Israel where he lives with his wife and two young daughters. Lior received his bachelor's degree in history and education at Oranim College near Haifa. He later completed his master's degree in general history at Tel Aviv University.
Lior has been a partner in the establishment of several social organizations in Lod in the fields of education and the environment. Most recently, he founded and managed the youth center of Lod and was also the chairman of the network of youth centers in Israel. The Young Adults Center is a thriving cultural and community center that provides young adults with tools to support their development and future success. It offers employment counseling, vocational training, career planning, and guidance in choosing a career or employment path.
Lior recently stepped away from his work at the youth center to direct his focus on a new initiative. Together with a few partners, he initiated a program to incentivize Jews and Arabs in Lod to open new businesses together. Their goal is to create an alternative narrative that places connection through common business interests over separation through dead-end politics.
