YAHEL ACADEMIC PROGRAMS
Where Learning Meets Doing
Yahel’s academic programs open the door for students to engage with Israel in a meaningful, grassroots way. Rooted in service and partnership, these programs move beyond traditional study abroad models by bringing participants directly into local communities. Through volunteering and relationship-building, students gain an authentic perspective on Israeli society and the diverse challenges it faces.

From Classroom to Community: Service in Action
Yahel offers immersive service-learning programs for academic institutions that wish to engage their college aged and graduate students deeply with Israeli society through hands-on volunteering. Participants live and work in local communities, partnering with grassroots organizations to address social challenges while learning about the diverse realities of life in Israel.
Our programs are designed to combine meaningful service with structured learning, reflection, and dialogue, enabling students to connect classroom knowledge with real-world impact. Through this experience, participants not only contribute to local initiatives but also gain tools and perspectives that shape them as socially conscious leaders long after the program ends.
Campus professionals, including Hillel staff, can also partner with Yahel to design immersive academic programs that bring students face-to-face with communities across Israel and engage them in responsible, impactful service work.
Yahel Academic programs have previously included collaboration with the Rutgers school of social work and with UC Berkeley.
