Alexandra Okeson-Haberman
Illinois, USA
Born in Illinois but raised across multiple states, Alexandra learned resilience and adaptability from her frequent moves and the unwavering love of her two sisters. She graduated from the University of Missouri with degrees in English and Ancient Mediterranean Studies and is now pursuing Library and Information Science with plans to work in public libraries.
Alexandra's commitment to service began early with volunteering as a preschool aide at her synagogue and working at a Boys and Girls Club. Through Repair the World programs, she volunteered with organizations providing free showers in summer 2024 and assisted with volunteer outreach at Jewish Family Service of Colorado in spring 2025.
Eager to deepen her impact and cultural understanding, Alexandra sees her Yahel fellowship as an opportunity to meaningfully contribute while immersing herself in Israeli communities. She's excited to collaborate with local organizations and build lasting connections through service.
Whether moving to new places or diving into volunteer work, Alexandra approaches each experience with curiosity and determination to make a difference.
