Anastasiia Dubovyk

Ukraine

Anastasiia is originally from Ukraine but has lived in the United Kingdom for the past three years. She earned her Master’s degree in Political Science in 2022, driven by a deep interest in history, politics, and human resilience.

Growing up in a country affected by war, she has witnessed firsthand how people can unite and find strength in community to face challenges together.

Fascinated by the Middle East’s diversity and complexity, Anastasiia has a particular admiration for Israel and its people. She believes Ukraine and Israel share certain similarities in their struggles and resilience. Through the Yahel Fellowship, she hopes to learn from Israeli society, see everyday life from the perspective of local communities, and contribute meaningfully to their development.

Anastasiia sees this as an important step in her career, one that will equip her with valuable skills and experiences to support community building both in Israel and back in Ukraine, fostering her professional and personal growth.

Wondering what a day in the life of a fellow looks like?
