Ben Hahn
Denver, Colorado
Ben Hahn brings a rich tapestry of experiences to the Yahel Social Change Fellowship. A Denver native pursuing dual degrees in History and English at Metropolitan State University, Ben's journey has been shaped by his commitment to community service and Jewish identity.
His transformative gap year with Kivunim took him across Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa, exploring Jewish communities from Jerusalem to Morocco. This experience deepened his connection to Israel and Jewish heritage, which he describes as a defining part of his identity despite attending public school.
Ben's leadership background spans from achieving Star rank in Boy Scouts to managing aquatics programs at Denver's JCC, where he taught swimming to diverse age groups and mentored staff about Jewish history and the Israeli conflict. His volunteer work includes meaningful time with Save a Child's Heart in Israel and various community service projects.
With beginners skills in Hebrew and Arabic, Ben is passionate about education and cross-cultural understanding. He sees this fellowship as an opportunity to make a lasting impact on children's lives while furthering his own growth in the land he deeply cherishes.
