Galya was raised in Atlanta, Georgia in a multicultural family from Israel, Mexico, and France. Spending every summer with her family in Israel growing up, she is fluent in both English and Hebrew. From a young age, she developed a love of learning languages and has studied Spanish, French, and a number of other languages.
In 2022, Galya worked at a Moadonit in Israel with the Jaffa Institute through the Onward Israel program, which deepened her passion to engage in service work. In 2024, she earned her B.A. in Linguistics and Anthropology at Emory University, focusing on phonetics, visual culture, and narrative construction.
Following her graduation, Galya has completed a work exchange program at the John C. Campbell Folk School in North Carolina, taught English to second language learners, and backpacked around Asia.
In her free time, she loves to travel, social dance, do art, and spend time in nature. She is passionate about social change, fostering dialogue across diverse peoples, and using art as a creative and therapeutic outlet. She is excited to live in Israel, give back to her community, and do her part.
