Micaela Hidalgo
Arizona, USA
Micaela brings athletic discipline and academic expertise to her Yahel fellowship. A four-year basketball player at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Global Security and Intelligence while focusing on Israel and the Middle East. Basketball taught her teamwork, discipline, and showing up for others—skills she's excited to apply in community service.
Rooted in Torah and guided by her family's teaching to "Choose Life" (Deuteronomy 30:19), Micaela comes from a lineage of strength and resilience. This foundation, combined with her academic studies, sparked her desire to live in Israel and gain a nuanced understanding of its complexities.
Currently improving her Hebrew through language workshops and cultural excursions, Micaela sees language as a bridge to authentic community engagement. She believes she's been placed "in such a time as this" to serve others and contribute meaningfully.
When not studying or volunteering, you'll find Micaela drawn to any sport with a ball and a net, staying active and building connections through athletics.
