Raquel Gordon
Seattle, USA
Raquel is a writer, editor and storyteller from Seattle, Washington, with a Bachelor's degree from the University of Washington and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Idaho.
Her graduate work centred on a poetry manuscript exploring themes of family, performance and Jewish identity - a project that reflects the deeper questions she has long been drawn to. Alongside her writing, she served as Editor-in-Chief of Fugue, the University of Idaho's graduate literary journal, and coached for the aerial arts club, bringing the same creativity and commitment to everything she takes on.
Raquel has made several visits to Israel over the years, mostly to spend time with extended family, and is now ready to move beyond short stays and truly immerse herself in Israeli life. Through the Yahel Social Change Fellowship, she hopes to deepen her understanding of Israeli society and the people within it - and to bring what she discovers back to the page, sharing those stories with a wider audience.
Outside of writing, you'll find Raquel reading, singing, playing guitar, or spending time outdoors.
