Shoshana Stern
Cincinnati, USA
Fresh from graduating Indiana University with a bachelor's degree in neuroscience, 22-year-old Shoshi from Cincinnati brings a lifetime of Jewish leadership and Israel connection to her Yahel fellowship. She's eager to deepen her love for Judaism and Israel while making meaningful contributions to her new community in Rishon LeZion.
Shoshi's Jewish journey began early through active USY participation, where she served as regional religion and education chair, and summers at Camp Young Judaea starting in third grade. After attending Tel Yehudah for two summers, she returned as a CYJ counselor, developing her passion for Jewish education and mentorship.
During the pandemic, Shoshi lived in Hod Hasharon for four months while attending Alexander Muss High School. Though she greatly enjoyed this Israeli experience, COVID restrictions left her with limited exposure to the country—only fueling her hunger to return for a deeper, more authentic engagement.
When not volunteering, you'll find Shoshi solving puzzles, crafting, or exploring nature. She's ready to get her hands dirty and dive right into community service.
