Theo Decruyenaere
Mouscron, Belgium
Born and raised in Belgium, Theo is a multilingual volunteer with a strong interest in international environments. Over the years, he has led groups across several Erasmus+ youth exchanges, coordinated a two-month volunteer project in Poland, and lived in Turin, Italy, where he completed a year-long European Solidarity Corps project.
In Turin, he worked at a daycare center for teenagers facing mental health challenges, while building genuine connections within the local community. Those experiences abroad sharpened his ability to adapt to new environments and connect meaningfully with people from very different backgrounds.
His desire to join Yahel was sparked by a previous volunteer experience in Israel - one that left a strong enough impression to bring him back for a deeper, more immersive engagement with the country, its people, and its society. He is also motivated to continue developing his Hebrew along the way.
Outside of volunteering, Theo is a musician and storyteller who writes and produces his own songs. When he's not tweaking a track, you'll find him out with friends or looking for the next new experience.
