Michael Cass
Marketing & Recruitment Manager
Mike grew up in Manchester, UK. Throughout his childhood, he attended Jewish school and his local youth movement where he first learned about social responsibility. As a young adult he explored this interest, volunteering each summer for this organization where he was able to teach younger attendees the importance of respecting each individual we come across, and the value of doing what you can to impact social change. After a degree in International Relations, Mike's natural skill sets led him into roles in sales and marketing, including one in which he established his Marketing agency during COVID. Throughout, he wrestled with the idea of returning to a career path in which he could do something more meaningful. With this in mind, Mike joined our Fellowship in 2022/23. Based in Lod, he developed a nuanced perspective of Israeli society, whilst teaching English in a primary school, running activities for adults with psychological illnesses, and writing grants for an NGO working towards shared society. His experience culminated in delivering the two-day, city-wide ‘Live in Lod’ arts and music festival. This is a project he is especially proud of, in light of it's impact in bringing together Lod’s diverse communities in celebration.
In his spare time, Mike can be found at a range of gigs, watching his beloved Sheffield Wednesday FC (he’s told us they’re not very good) or rustling up something tasty in the kitchen.
