Sample Week Itinerary

Sunday

MORNING
​ 

Meginim School - A school serving a diverse range of the community's youth, with a large proportion from new immigrant families. Working in collaboration with teachers, Fellows deliver innovative English language programming and build personal connections with the students, strengthening their English skills, and boosting their confidence.

LATE AFTERNOON
​ 

Kiddum Noar - A program that serves as an alternative to high school for at-risk youth who are unable to integrate into any other educational setting. Fellows support staff in delivering engaging programs focusing on personal and social development.

Tuesday
MORNING
​ 

Meginim School - Continuing to assist teachers in the school and provide students with engaging English language programming.

LATE AFTERNOON
​ 

Haifa Women's Shelter - a nonprofit org that supports women in Haifa who have suffered abuse. Fellows here run social activities to engage the women in support of staff whose aim is re-integrate the attendees, many of whom are suffering from PTSD.

Thursday

Together with the entire cohort

JOINT LEARNING DAY
​ 

Participate in hands-on workshops combining language practice, skills development, structured reflection sessions, and deep dives into Israeli society and contemporary issues.

DAY TRIPS
​ 

Immersive excursions examining key aspects of Israeli society through direct experience and contextual learning.

Examples:

 

Gaza Border Day Trip - Explore the lives and values of Israeli communities living in direct proximity to Gaza.

​ 

Arab Citizens Day - Dive into the Arab community, their culture, traditions, foods and challenges in Um El Fahm, the largest Arab city in Israel.

Monday
MORNING
 

ALEF - A small local organization in working with the refugee/statusless communities in Haifa. Fellows support in a range of ways including child care, and teaching both English and Tech-based skills.

LATE AFTERNOON
 

Charna Youth Center - The center provides educational and activity programming to at-risk youth in the city. Fellows deliver programming aimed at engaging youth of various ages, with the opportunity to utilize the recording studio and music room in the basement.

Wednesday
MORNING
 

Community Garden - The Kiryat Chaim community garden offers a green space for the community to enjoy, and provides a space for adults with phsycological disabilities to engage in theraputic excercises through working with the land. Fellows support staff and coordinators here in maintaining the space and working with the attendees.

LATE AFTERNOON
 

Charna Youth Center - Continuing to deliver programming in support of the community's youth.
