  • Explore the neighborhood, meet inspiring local social activists, and actively participate in service projects.

  • Savor a delicious, locally made meal and participate in a local workshop, community meeting etc.

Arrival to Ofakim. Welcome and walking tour of the Mishor HaGefen neighborhood to hear about what happened there on October 7th.

Rest and debrief

11:15AM

Arrive at Beit HaTavshil and meet with Rabbi Shneor to learn about the work done in the center. Pack 100 food packages.

Lunch at Beit HaFul

2:00PM

Meet with local Ethiopian Israeli council member to hear about her work and about her community. Enjoy an Ethiopian Buna Coffee ceremony made by the local women.

Service Project Examples

In addition to the sample itinerary above, here's a sampling of the full-day volunteering experiences we can create together. Each itinerary will be tailored to meet real needs on the ground and aligned with the volunteers' backgrounds and interests.

Service learning in Shfar’am / other Druze town

Together with our local partners, you will be hosted in one of the Druze towns in the Galilee. after an introductory conversation where you will learn about the unique story of the Druze community, you will join community members for a volunteer project according to the needs of the town. After a delicious Druze meal, local youth will take you on a walking tour to see the important sights of the town.

Service learning in Lod

This day is focused on Arab-Israeli relations in mixed cities. Start the day with a short walking tour in the old part of Lod followed by community based volunteer project. After lunch, take part in a panel with Jewish and Arab women who speak to the group about life in Lod

Service learning in Rishon LeZion

Start with a walking tour and introduction to the Ramat Eliyahu neighborhood. Participate in a local community based volunteer project. In the afternoon, split and go to 3-4 different Ethiopian-Israeli host families for a homemade meal or just to hear the stories of the families. Conclude with a Yahel led learning session or a speaker to talk about the Ethiopian Israeli community.
